Board Welcomes New Member
The Board welcomed new director Sue Seacord last month. Sue has over 20
years experience providing services for people with developmental
disabilities. Sue currently works with two CAP participants and has
"witnessed first hand how this program has enriched their lives. The
excitement and smiles I have seen give credence to the value of this
program. I will be proud to be an active member of the board." And we're
proud to have you, Sue - welcome!
We would also like to express our sincerest gratitude to Loretta Rhea,
who has stepped down from the Board after a year of dedicated service.
Loretta has been of invaluable assistance, volunteering her bookkeeping
expertise and countless hours in support of the Community Access Program.
Thanks, Loretta...you will be missed. |
Beautiful New Home A Reality
The Alfred and Elaine Barrack House opened at the end of 2006, welcoming
six new residents. Owned by CAP, this
Craftsman-style home was designed for individuals with developmental
disabilities who need physical accommodations to meet their specific
needs. The home, located at 2244 4th Street in National City, is
licensed as an ICF/DD-N type facility and is being leased to Friendship
Developmental Services.

New Accessible Vehicles
The Community Access Program received six (6) new wheelchair
accessible vehicles through the California Department of Transportation.
These vehicles will enable CAP to expand its daily
transportation services to more clients throughout San Diego County. The
vehicles have new features that add to the safety and comfort of our
clients and participants, as well as additional ambulatory seating,
enabling more of our participants' parents, friends and caregivers to
join us for weekend recreational outings. |
